In 2021, a client contacted Wolfe regarding two tobacco barns in Connecticut. He was faced with either disassembling and reassembling the barns, which would be costly and time-intensive, or moving them in one piece to a new location. Wolfe contracted to move the barns, which were one-story wood-frame buildings built on dirt floors and measuring 31’x193′ and 31’x169′. Wolfe used the Buckingham unified jacking system to lift the barns and installed steel beams and power and coaster dollies. They then used the Buckingham SmartSteer® system to drive the barns over the move route, which ran 3/8 mile through fields and across a street to the new location, where they lowered them onto their new foundations.
