Wolfe House Movers, LLC, relocated five historic bungalows in Tucson as part of a local initiative to preserve them from demolition. The brick and stucco houses were built in the early 1900s and used as rental units for over a hundred years. Plans to construct multi-story housing for the University of Arizona necessitated the relocation of the houses. Wolfe mobilized from their Oregon location to excavate, lift, and safely move the buildings. To prevent traffic disruption, Wolfe relocated the houses at night, using Buckingham dollies and power units to drive each house a couple of blocks to its new permanent location. The homes’ owner plans to renovate the houses, using original materials removed for the relocation to restore the homes to their historic appearance.
