Brick House Moving

Greenville, SC / September 2014

We moved this 50’x68′ historic brick mansion known locally as “The Wilkins House”, to save it from demolition. The house was built in 1870’s with triple brick construction for William T. Wilkins, a merchant who moved down from New York. We moved the house on 24 Buckingham Dollies, ¼ mile down the road to its new location. Weighing in at 765 ton, it was the heaviest building ever moved in the state of South Carolina. Watch a video of the project here.
