This stone tower was built in 1889 for the Rhode Island Veterans Home and was moved by Wolfe House Movers in November of 2015 to make way for improvements on the property. The tower was stone on the lower portion and then frame on up to the lighthouse top. We tunneled through a solid stone foundation and lifted the tower from its base. The 250-ton tower was moved 800 feet across the property with the Buckingham Power Dolly System and supported over the new footer while the foundation was built up and grouted in to the supported walls.
