This 2 ½-story masonry house was supported at its original elevation in order for major excavation to happen beneath the first floor. Micropiles, wooden cribbing, and steel beams were used to keep the 65′ x 69′ stone structure at its existing elevation during construction. The overall structure weight totaled over 1,000 tons, which included multiple fireplaces and chimneys. A multi-level basement was constructed underneath the home after the excavation was completed.
