Wolfe moved a 19’x225′ lumber sorter into position at a South Carolina lumber mill, shaving over two weeks off of the usual shutdown for equipment replacement. The manufacturer built the new lumber sorter onsite beside the operating lumber sorter and installed cross beams for the move. When construction was finished, Wolfe mobilized to the site and installed main beams and Buckingham dollies. After the old sorter was demolished, Wolfe used unified jacking machines to extend the dolly cylinders, lifting the 600-ton lumber sorter to the necessary height for the move. Using the same unified jack machines to propel the power dollies, Wolfe precisely maneuvered the lumber sorter forward 60 feet onto the cement pad and adjusted each subsection of the lumber sorter, lining it up perfectly with the footprint on the pad. Working during a holiday week to prevent labor loss, Wolfe and the manufacturer completed the project several days ahead of projected schedule.
