House of Seven Gables – Structural Relocation

The House of Seven Gables, also known as The Loretto Mansion, was relocated 500′ across the property in the summer of 2017. The large brick house was lifted up and set onto the Buckingham Power Dolly System for the move. The building weighed 730 ton and was moved on 21 Buckingham Dollies with SmartSteer. The patent-pending electronic steering system was very effective on the sweeping S-curve in the move route. The historic building was moved to preserve it from demolition and make way for development on the property.
