This 430-ton, 3-story, triple-brick townhouse was built in the late 1800s and is being integrated into the design of a new 5-story hotel in Alexandria, VA. To accommodate the phases of construction, Wolfe moved the house 150′ away from its original site and onto a neighboring lot where it sat in storage while a sub-grade parking garage was installed in its former location. When the parking garage was finished, Wolfe returned to the site and used steel beams and hydraulic dollies to drive the townhouse into place over the new foundation.
