The Junkin House was built in 1747 by Irish immigrant Jacob Junkin and is one of the oldest structures still standing in Spring Valley Township. After acquiring the building in 2020, the Cumberland Valley Preservation Society contracted Wolfe to relocate the house 150′ back on the property, away from its position at the edge of the highway. Wolfe lifted the 2½-story stone house with its fireplace, installed dollies, and moved it to the new site. The preservation society plans to restore the building for use as offices, a museum on local history, and interactive historic programs.
