Yale University Relocates Historic House
The historic university house at 87 Trumbull Street in New Haven, Connecticut is now located at 85 Trumbull Street after Wolfe House Movers moved the house 500′ down the street to make way for a new construction project at its former location. Interestingly, this is the second time the house has been relocated during its nearly 200-year history. For its previous move in 1871, the building was dismantled and rebuilt; this time, Wolfe used Buckingham power dollies and their patented SmartSteer® System to seamlessly drive the house down the street, back it around a 90º corner, and position it over its new foundation.
