To Whom It May Concern:
On November 12, 2015, Wolfe House Movers, LLC, moved a structure resembling a lighthouse which was constructed between 1889 and 1898 for the Rhode Island Civil War Veterans. This structure has a 20′ diameter mass masonry stone base rising approximately 17′-7″ above the floor, followed by a wood framed-in conical section covered by wood shingle. The total height of the structure is approximately 93 ft to the top of the spire and approximately 73 ft to the top of the structure.
When the building was being prepared to be moved, Wolfe House Movers took great care not to disturb the existing facade. Sitting on a solid rock foundation, this was no easy task. Having carefully removed the rock while supporting the existing tower, Wolfe House Movers were successful in raising the structure, installing the Buckingham unified jacking dollies and cautiously rolling the structure to its new location. On move day, the structure was relocated approximately 800 linear feet due west of existing location and the process went seamlessly and without any concerns.
Gilbane would not hesitate working with Wolfe Movers, LLC in the future and highly recommends them to anyone needing a structure moved.
Sincerely,
Gene Oakland, Chief Purchasing Agent
