Six flood-prone cabins on the Methodist Campground in Des Plaines, IL were lifted 8 feet above the flood plain. Once raised, steel beams were placed and new concrete foundation was poured to elevate the cottages permanently. The cottages, which were built in the late 1800s, had flooded several times over the last few years.
